Financial Management Reform: Jamaica
World Bank (1984-1988)

Under a World Bank Technical Assistance Loan for structural adjustment, DevTech provided expert services to the government of Jamaica through the auspices of the Administrative Reform Programme to assist in the improvement and automation of accounting and financial management systems throughout government operations. DevTech was directly involved in carrying out reorganization and development plans for major divisions of the Ministry of Finance and Planning. Additionally, DevTech assisted in the development of accounting systems and procedures in all of the ministries and departments of the government in order to meet new requirements resulting from the ongoing reforms in the Ministry of Finance and Planning. This component included the development of financial accounting support for periodic performance reviews required under the newly installed Performance Budgeting System. Finally, DevTech provided technical assistance in support of the design and development of the automated national financial management systems.
