Environmental Division of the Office of Project Development, Asia/Near East Bureau USAID (1990-1992)
DevTech supplied a wide range of services to USAID Bureaus encompassing Eastern Europe and Asia/Near East. The services provided fell into four broad categories: technical support, design support, evaluation of urban environmental issues, and environmental reviews. Technical support activities included drafting statements of work and background reports; conference organization; review of project proposals; reviewing and coordinating environmental strategy; and providing advice regarding educational and institutional development requirements. DevTech provided design support for a regional environmental project (PRIDE), a project to assess point and nonpoint sources of pollution in the Danube River basin, and an environmental training project. DevTech also contributed analyses of environmental services and products sectors in Eastern Europe in support of project design efforts, and evaluated urban environmental issues from national and municipal perspectives in the Asia/Near East and Eastern Europe regions. DevTech performed environmental assessments, reviewed compliance with environmental procedures, drafted environmental guidance, and reviewed environmental regulatory requirements in the Eastern Europe and Asia/Near East regions.
