Ed Data II, as part of the services offered by EGAT/ED to USAID and as the education data section of the Demographic Household Surveys (DHS), collects, analyzes, and disseminates education data through surveys at the household level. Ed Data II also develops, tests, and refines education data collection instruments and has the capability to collect data, if requested, at the school, community, and employer levels.

DevTech is a subcontractor to the Research Triangle Institute (RTI) and serves as a source of technical support and expertise for USAID Missions, Bureaus and other USAID operating units. DevTech's role includes assessing gender issues in education through the data, ensuring that appropriate sex-disaggregated data is collected through the surveys, and identifying gender constraints revealed by the data. DevTech also provides general technical input into survey design and content.
