Environmental Compliance Support Services—Europe/Eurasia
USAID/Europe & Eurasia Bureau (2002-2007)

DevTech currently provides technical support to USAID's Bureau for Europe and Eurasia (E&E) to assist the Bureau with its Environmental Compliance Support Services project. The project collaborates with Washington and overseas Missions and partners to assist them with fulfilling requirements of USAID environmental regulations regarding environmental impacts of US funded activities overseas (22CFR216, FAA 119, Title XIII, ADS 204). DevTech development specialists provide technical assistance for environmental monitoring and mitigation. These specialists also identify environmental impacts of US-funded projects, review and prepare compliance documents, review Biodiversity Assessments, and conduct data analysis of the E&E Bureau's environmental compliance documentation and resources to help ensure compliance measures are met. DevTech has developed custom-built, on-line databases and associated web pages that comprise a knowledge management system for the E&E bureau to manage this information. Among its other functions, the system assures rapid and accurate access to current environmental compliance actions. DevTech staff coordinated the E&E Bureau’s Regional Workshop on Environmental Procedures and Lessons Learned from Mitigation and Monitoring of Environmental Compliance in 2004 in Ohrid, Macedonia. With DevTech’s support, the Bureau has set the standard for knowledge management of environmental compliance for the Agency.
