Economic Analysis and Data Services

DevTech manages USAID's Economic Analysis and Data Services (EADS), the Chief Information Officer's initiative to provide USAID employees with quick and easy access to development data and quantitative analytical support. EADS maintains seven specialized websites, which provide access to thousands of statistical series covering all aspects of the development process along with data analysis tools.

Public Websites

• U.S. Overseas Loans and Grants (Greenbook)—Provides a complete historical record of U.S. foreign assistance to the rest of the world. Data are collected annually from all U.S. Government agencies implementing foreign assistance activities, and are reported as obligations and disbursements.
• U.S. Official Development Assistance Database—Provides a detailed time-series of U.S. Official Development Assistance (ODA) and the ODA of other Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) donors. These data are compiled annually by the U.S. Agency for International Development for the U.S. Government and submitted to the OECD/Development Assistance Committee.
• Trade Capacity Building (TCB) Database—Provides access to the full set of survey data collected from U.S. government agencies implementing TCB activities worldwide. Users may search for data by country or region, TCB category, or by U.S. government funding or implementing agency.
• Global Education Database—Provides access to 134 education indicators collected by UNESCO. Users can extract data to measure the performance of a specific country or groups of countries over time. The website also includes the Rapid Education Calculator, an education sector planning tool.
• Development Statistics for Latin American and the Caribbean—Provides selected economic and social statistical data specific to Latin American and Caribbean countries categorized by sector.

Restricted Access Websites

• Economic and Social Database (ESDB)–Brings together more than 7,500 data series from over 80 sources in one location organized by country, sector and source; country profiles; U.S. Assistance Tables; and a variety of charts and graphs. [Available to selected government agencies.]
• USAID Activity Portal—Brings together information from several USAID systems in order to provide USAID staff with access to complementary information about activities at the country level. [Available only to USAID.]
