DevTech is a leading member on the Water IQC II small business holder team led by Mendez England & Associates (ME&A).
The US Agency for International Development (USAID)'s Integrated Water and Coastal Resources Management (IWCRM) program addresses water management-related issues and plays a crucial part in delivering high-quality services supporting mission activities in the area of increasing and improving natural resources worldwide.
Critical water and coastal resource issues covered by the IWCRM IQC contract include the following:
Insufficient quality of the quantity and quality needed for human use
Insufficient quality and quantity of water to support ecological functions
Inappropriate water and coastal resources policies, institutional arrangements and structures, financial systems, legal and regulatory authorities to achieve sustainable water and coastal resources management
Inadequate sustainable financing mechanisms for of water and wastewater utilities at the city, municipal and community levels
Physical land use/land cover modification, conversion and development affecting riparian zones, wetlands, and other aquatic habitat, and resultant alteration of hydrologic cycles
Contamination of surface and groundwater due to inadequate pollution prevention and control (including inadequate municipal and industrial wastewater collection and treatment)
Negative human health impacts due to the spread of waterborne disease, vector-borne disease, and water contamination
Depletion of groundwater aquifers and saltwater intrusion into coastal aquifers
Soil water logging, salinization, and erosion through improper irrigation and agricultural practices
