Tonya Giannoni

Tonya Giannoni is DevTech's Chief Operating Officer. Dr. Giannoni joined the firm in 2001 and has served as COO since 2007. She supervises the firm's project management and business development functions and is the institutional representative for the firm for several development community membership organizations. She holds a Ph.D. in political science from The George Washington University and an M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University.

During her 20 year career as a development professional, Dr. Giannoni has managed and/or supervised the implementation of more than 100 development projects in Latin America and around the world that have focused on improving markets, building capacity for entrepreneurship, and strengthening institutions. She has launched multi-million dollar development activities and successfully completed short-term assignments on U.S. Government-funded projects in Bolivia, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Guatemala, Indonesia, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Honduras, and the Philippines. Her skills include project design and implementation, budgeting, work plan development, training, and performance monitoring. She is a skilled trainer, including formal training sessions and one-on-one training in financial and project management systems. She has designed, developed, and implemented project and grant management information systems. She is fluent in Spanish.
