Samantha Akins

Samantha Akins is DevTech's Director of Business Development. Ms. Akins has more than 10 years of experience in business development and managing large and complex international development projects. Most recently, she has served as the Deputy Chief of Party for the USAID funded Public Policy Reform Program in Bogota, Colombia. Previously, she was the Director of Contracts and Grants for the USAID Más Inversión para el Desarrollo Alternativo Sostenible (MIDAS) and Alternative Development Areas at the Municipal Level (ADAM) programs in Colombia. She also served as Deputy Chief of Party on a USAID-OTI funded program in Venezuela. She has held home office positions at the Center for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA) and Development Alternatives, Inc., and has completed short-term assignments in Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, U.K, Russia, Ukraine, South Africa and Nigeria. She earned her MSc in Social Policy and Planning in Developing Countries, from the London School of Economics. Ms. Akins is fluent in Spanish.
