John Gold

John Gold is a Senior Economist with DevTech's Economic Analysis and Data Services project. Mr Gold has more than 20 years of experience working on developing world issues, with a specialization in Africa. He has broad experience in economic development and government relations, public policy formulation and analysis, and project implementation. He has excellent information systems and metrics skills and is experienced in the use of economic theory in problem solving. Mr. Gold has extensive USAID field experience in Africa as a consultant in agricultural policy analysis, field surveys, data collection, and information management. Since 1996, Mr. Gold has managed the compilation and analysis of country-level databases for USAID. He also is an economist with strong expertise in economic growth and development data. Through on-the-job training and formal courses, Mr. Gold has developed strong skills in the use of sophisticated statistical and economic analysis tools, including leading software, database development, data analysis and web-based tools. He has been an active participant at SAS software's SAS Global Forum , as well as numerous formal training courses in advanced SAS programming, statistics and ANOVA, survey sampling, and survey reporting. He has a deep understanding of both the interpretation of USAID development data and the technology utilized to manage the data and delivery of easy-to-understand, quality reporting.
