David Colin

David Colin is a Senior Economist with DevTech's Economic Analysis and Data Services project. He specializes in Latin America and the Caribbean, international trade, and market analysis. Since joining DevTech in 2003, Mr. Colin has been the principal author of several editions of the annual publication Latin America and the Caribbean: Selected Economic and Social Data (the "LAC Data Book"). Prior to that, he worked as an economist at the Inter-American Development Bank and the U.S. International Trade Commission. Mr. Colin's private sector experience includes an import-export firm as well as a consultancy on regulatory matters, including market analyses of the U.S. electricity market and the chemicals and concrete industries. He has contributed to scholarly papers that range in topics from NAFTA to the Bulgarian economic transition. Mr. Colin holds a BA and an MA in Economics and speaks Spanish and fluent Italian. He is a SAS® 9 Certified Base Programmer.
